Based on the tale The Nutcracker and the Mouse King, by E. T. A. Hoffman, the ballet The Nutcracker is the story of a girl who, on Christmas Eve, dreams of the Nutcracker Soldier. In a fierce battle against the Rat King, Nutcracker is in grave danger, but Clara, overcoming her own fears, enters this battle and, with the help of the little soldiers, defeats the Rat King. Now transformed into a prince, the Nutcracker leads Clara through the woods, where they watch the dance of snowflakes, bound for the Kingdom of Wonders.
